The body of work really speaks for itself. Beatty was one on the most important individuals of the American New Wave cinema. Bonnie & Clyde and The Graduate were the beginning of New Hollywood in 1967 and Beatty would end up cementing his name among the greats that created this age. In addition to directing, producing, writing and acting in his own films, he also worked with some of the best from the 1960s all the way through the 1980s. He worked with directors like Elia Kazan, George Stevens, Robert Altman, Mike Nichols and Hal Ashby. Beatty has been married to actress Annette Bening since 1992 and has a relation to another famous actress, his sister, Shirley MacLaine.
